Non-Fired Building Blocks Using Industrial Wastes

نویسندگان

چکیده

Bricks produced from traditional techniques and agricultural clay contribute considerably to the air pollutions in world. Therefore, an urgent need start using environment-friendly alternative material/approach save fertile topsoil conserve a clean environment. This research is aimed produce non-fired bricks incorporating industrial solid waste steel power plants, including Fly ash Ladle Furnace Slag (LFS), as partial replacement of CEM I lime. Induction (IFS) used partial/full natural fine aggregate (local sand) laboratory scale manufacturing process. The prepared building blocks conform minimum compressive strength requirement 10.3 MPa per ASTM C62 BDS 208 while maximum was 40.6 MPa. highly promising performance pronounced use materials brick production achieve cleaner environment for sustainable society. ournal Engineering Science 12(3), 2021, 1-10

Simulation Using Building Blocks

In this paper we sketch how the use of building blocks provides added value for improving the effectiveness of simulation studies. Research conducted by other groups regarding building blocks is in our view not yet sufficient for successful application in the field of discrete event simulation. In addition the sets of building blocks provided by simulation vendors do not provide the added value...

Performance of Non-fired Green Brick Containing Rice Husk as Sustainable Building Material

The demand for sustainable alternative construction materials to cement in modern technology cannot be underemphasized. This paper presents a non-fired green brick with an agriculture residue namely, rice husk. Although, high plasticity brown clay deposits are widely distributed in Malaysia and rice husk is a well known agriculture residue, research works on non-fired green brick with rice husk...

Assessment of Toxicity of Industrial Wastes Using Crop Plant Assays

Environmental pollution has a harmful action on bioresources, including agricultural crops. It is generated through many industrial activities such as mining, coal burning, chemical technology, cement production, pulp and paper industry, etc. The toxicity of different industrial wastes and heavy metals excess was evaluated using crop plant assays (germination and hydroponics seedlings growth te...

Environmental optimization in fractionating industrial wastes using cost - benefit analysis

This paper proposes that industrial waste be regarded, in a business economic sense, as having the same basic status as regular products. A basic mathematical expression for assigning industrial costs to waste is presented. The expression can be employed in conjunction with cost-benefit analysis for estimating the “true” internal costs of industrial waste. In two case studies presented, industr...
